On January 12th, 2020, I typed my third blog post titled :
In that post, I talked about sending numerous query letters out to different publishers and how I thought I needed to rush publishing my works of fiction due to the rejection letters, only for me to pull them off Amazon’s self publishing website months down the road. For some reason at the time, I did not understand how much growth, patience, development, practice, and skill I needed to experience in order to get to where I am at today.
And, believe it or not, I’m still learning.
(Side Note : from a professional standpoint as a writer – always, always, always, always thank your editor and give them shout outs and credit from time to time when you mention your books or if you even used one because what is a mediocre writer without an exceptional editor? I’ll tell you – a still mediocre writer, stuck with an eleventh grade writing style, bouncing around with illusions of grandeur rooted deeper than their tired typing hands).
Since then, what an adventure it has been, my fellow travelers, and I want to personally say that I appreciate every one of you for reading what I have written over the past five years and for the unconditional support you have shown me. It means the world.
According to my last blog post, I have made the decision to revisit what I once abandoned, this time around my mindset and perception being completely different and the rules having changed on why I am deciding to take this route with this selection of books.
Four books are going to be published at the end of the month of May:
A Story About Her (parts 1-3)
#priVateEye (seasons 1-3)
Stories from the Void
Poems from the Void
A separate blog post from five years ago has already been written about A Story About Her and has every detail you may need to know in regards to it. I tell every reader that engages in my sixteen hundred paged abyss titled A Story About Her to enjoy the experience while it lasts because, when it’s over, it’s over, and you will be left in a standstill by the books end.
A Story About Her is one book that helps you get lost in time.
It’s a one of a kind experience for serious readers.
I want to take this paragraph to thank my editor, Alan Brown, my favorite Yankee, for putting me through the process and diving into this book like it was meant to be. Alan and I dissected this book over a three month time span, sentence by sentence, page by page, and got this book to the level where it is at now. While working with him, a creative switch was flipped and my eyes were revealed to the wonderful world of professional editing. He was worth every penny and, to this day, I am glad he was put in my path for this experience. We still call and heckle each other from time to time, the North meeting the South in the most beautiful of ways.
#priVateEye is a novella I dived into making many moons ago and is illustrated with pictures taken by me. The undying theme in this book revolves around two twin flames who try everything they can to find one another after being separated by forces unknown. As their search finally leads them back into one another’s arms, they do everything they can to dodge what the World and its dark devils throw at them. For the committed reader, all three seasons of #priVateEye can be read in a single day.
Stories from the Void and Poems from the Void are a collection of short works that I have written from all my years of blogging and have combined into this enjoyable and somewhat questionable journey for all to read. On the inside page of these books, I have dedicated these two works of art to all of the visitors, strangers, family, and friends that tuned in to read my writings at whatever stage in their life. I am entirely grateful for the one thing that you shared with and gave me freely, an entity that I can never repay you back with – time.
The journey you take when you dive into my books is worth it. I hope you enjoy the ride. It’s for you and only you and in your own way!
This entire occasion is somewhat nostalgic. I am sort of excited. I am not nervous or scared or am questioning this step because I know how it ends now. I somewhat apologize for the price of the books and for not being able to combine A Story About Her into one book but Amazon.com and Kindle does have its rules and restrictions even though I am thankful to have access to its tools. It does come with a price and like I said in my last post – it’s not about the money now. It’s about what’s to come in the future from all of this, and I want my readers to finally see what they think of my fictional novels.
Only paperback versions of my books will be available to purchase for the foreseeable future. Sorry for the momentary inconvenience. When electronic versions become available, if they do, I will notify all of you wandering adventurers.

So what happens from here I guess one might ask?
I guess the possibilities could be endless.
On the other hand, they might not be.
I plan on finalizing two more books that I would like to publish by end of year into the first quarter of next year (One Day He and The Grange Bed and Breakfast). I have a very neglected podcast and a very original idea on how to crank it back up for another season (platform search ‘vernontalks’). I have plans for another short film but I am too far off from being excited enough to mention anything pertaining to it. If I make it, I do. If I don’t, oh well.
It’s summertime too at that. Time to spend with the fam. To play. To sleep. To eat. To repeat. To play some more. To sleep even more. To work a job that pays the bills. To stay away from the endless stupid people that exist out in the simulated matrix. To disconnect from all the clutter.
I’m glad to be here. I’m overjoyed to be at the place in life that I currently am. I’m thankful for all of my readers, and I am proud to finally be able to share what I have accomplished on my ‘Road Less Traveled’.
There is plenty more asphalt to cover.
This is just the beginning.
Don’t give up before you give yourself the chance to start!
Three rules to remember:
- instead of trying to figure out life, let life figure out you.
- don’t ever stop don’ting
- unexpect the expected
